DeKalb County Celebrates 11th Annual PINK OUT Month with Community Events and Breast Cancer Awareness Efforts

DeKalb County, IN – May 1, 2025 – The DeKalb County PINK OUT Committee is proud to announce the 11th Annual PINK OUT Month this May, a county-wide campaign to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, prevention, and patient support. Throughout the month, a variety of community-driven events and outreach efforts will unite residents and local businesses in support of this important cause.

This year’s PINK OUT theme emphasizes continued collaboration, compassion, and community involvement. Highlights include a Mayor’s Proclamation on May 6 at 6 PM to officially declare May as PINK OUT Month in DeKalb County, and a wide range of events designed to engage people of all ages.

One of the cornerstone events of this year’s initiative is PINK OUT Day on May 15, coinciding with the ACD Festival Kickoff & Cruise-In in downtown Auburn. The day will feature an array of activities and services:

  • Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography from 1–6 PM at the James Cultural Plaza

  • Live Music by Hubie Ashcraft, 6–8 PM at the James Cultural Plaza

  • Health & Wellness Fair, 6–8 PM at James Cultural Plaza & Jackson Street

  • Food & Support Services, 5–8 PM, including Brown House food truck and St. Martin’s Healthcare Mobile Coach

Residents are encouraged to wear pink and visit downtown Auburn to show their support, where awareness ribbons will also be prominently displayed.
